Unity on the Bay

A positive path for spiritual living

Unity on the Bay is a diverse spiritual home that embraces and radiates unconditional love, acceptance, energy and healing.  At Unity, we believe that there is one power: God, the good, omnipotent, and that the awareness and connection with this power opens the manifest world to its highest and best good in every individual and the universe as a whole.  As this awareness becomes an intricate part of our lives, we begin to transform ourselves, our community and our world.

Rev. Chris

It’s not possible to be separate from God any more than it’s possible to be separated from anything.  Transcendent of form and matter, we’re all a part of one energy, one life and one love.  It is possible, however, to experience a sense of separation from God, just as we experience a sense of being separated from one another. Because we have accepted the belief in two powers, we have created a consciousness – both as individuals and collectively – that creates the experiences of good and bad and right and wrong.  The moment we accept two powers, we accept separation.  The two powers are separate from each other, and so our experience reflects separation. As we awaken spiritually, we intentionally place our awareness on the ideas of unity and oneness, and we release beliefs based duality and separation.  This allows us to change our experience to one that reflects of spiritual reality of one presence and one power, and the illusion of separation fades into the nothingness from which it originated.

Rev. Elizabeth

The absolute truth is that we cannot be separated from God. It is all God and we are divine ideas in the mind of God. The relative truth is constantly changing and as humans we have the unique ability to identify with the Absolute, as our true reality, or to believe and feel separated from God. As Jesus reminded us, “the Kingdom of God is within.” When feeling separated, stressed, or anxious, we can always take a “sacred pause” and set aside the world of time and space as we take a breath, open our hearts, and enter the Silence.  There we wait in stillness.  The more we go within the more we gain stability in knowing our Oneness with God and knowing our Divine Self.
