After months trying out a non-denominational church, Amy decided she wasn’t connecting because she needed a place that welcomed all people.

How’d you get connected to Unity and what keeps you involved?
After months trying out a non-denominational church, I decided I wasn’t connecting because I needed a place that welcomed all people. I was invited by singer Maryel Epps and instantly felt like I found a new home. I keep coming to Unity week after week, year after year because of the positive message and people. I am proud to be a part of this spiritual community.

When do you feel a sense of peace and the most fulfilled?
Outside of my home and at Unity, I feel at peace at the beach or riding my bike, yet I feel most fulfilled when I’m traveling to a new place that I am eager to explore. I love the feeling of walking the streets and taking in the culture around me.

What’s your favorite book to recommend to others?
My favorite book to recommend is actually a book that I was introduced to during Unity’s Adventures in Faith program. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is a powerful read with four simple principles that can change your life for the better.

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would want it to be longer than a week, but my pick would somewhere in Thailand. I would embrace the peaceful energy, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings while indulging in many, many spa services.

What superhero best describes you?
I would have to go with the obvious…Wonder Woman. Not only does she have fabulous hair and accessories, she is also intelligent, strong, honest, and adventurous.

Name: Dennis Carman
Occupation: Hotel/Resort Senior Group Sales Manager

First attended Unity On The Bay: 2004

Dennis stays connected to Unity on the Bay for many reasons, including the energy, the ministers, the board, classes/workshops, and the core beliefs/principles.

How’d you get connected to Unity and what keeps you involved?
If I am not mistaken, several people had mentioned UOTB and suggested I give it a try when I was searching for a new spiritual home.  I stay connected for many reasons, including but not limited to the following: The Energy, The Ministers, The Board, The Classes/Workshops etc., The core beliefs/principles, the belief that membership and attendance help keep my life in balance.

When do you feel a sense of peace and the most fulfilled?
In those ever increasing moments when I indisputably feel the presence of spirit and know I am experiencing the kingdom.

What’s your favorite book to recommend to others?
I can't really say that I have a favorite book to recommend, but some that I have enjoy are: Think and Grow Rich, The Energy of Money, & How To Get What You Want.

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Unity Village, Ibiza, Dubai, Nice, London, Paris, Amsterdam, or any other place that would be beautiful, safe, healthy, fun, exciting, prosperous, clean and orderly, without many rules, regulations, and laws.

What superhero best describes you?
Superboy or Captain America

Name: Angel “Peppe” Troche-Lopez
Occupation: Project Manager/Journalist

First attended Unity On The Bay: 2002

Peppe was born and raised into a fundamentalist household. From his late teen years until 2002, he was disconnected from spirituality.   UOTB provided him an opportunity to congregate with like-minded individuals.

How’d you get connected to Unity and what keeps you involved?

I was invited to attend a service in the Spanish Ministry.  Right on that first time some congregation members asking me to participate in organizing an event approached me. From that moment I felt that this was my new home…a safe place for me.

When do you feel a sense of peace and the most fulfilled?

I feel at peace when I can look back at my day and see that I accomplished something meaningful, not big but meaningful. I feel fulfilled when I can do something good for others.

What’s your favorite book to recommend to others?

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. There is a lot of wisdom on all the pages of that book.

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Machu Picchu, Peru. I was blessed to visit this wonderful place a couple of years ago. It is such a magical place that the few tour hours are not enough to enjoy the experience.

What superhero best describes you?

Batman since I believe that he is service oriented. The mask for me represents helping others anonymously.
