Unity on the Bay’s Statement on Family Separation and Child Detention

We believe in the sacred worth of all people. We believe in the power of unity. We believe all people merit being treated with compassion, understanding and dignity. It is from this consciousness that we call for the end of family separation, child detention and the inhumane ways in which immigrants are being treated at the Homestead Child Detention Center, and others like it. Unity's co-founder Myrtle Fillmore believed strongly in the need to care for all children saying : "Prayer without action is incomplete." Unity on the Bay calls on our and all communities of faith to prayerfully take action towards the fair and just treatment of immigrants, documented and undocumented.
