 | | Unity on the Bay Prayer Emissary Expectations
Be Prepared
Review and read Prayer handbook and Manual articles, which help sensitize us to the feelings of others.
Attend All Training Classes and Meetings
All training classes and subsequent monthly meetings are mandatory and are essential for the learning process, for maintaining communications, and for the cohesiveness and bonding of the entire group.
Be on Time
It is important to be on time as it shows respect for yourself and others.
Prayer
Prayer emissaries are required to be available to pray with congregants either in person or by phone and to keep and accurate record of the service. Written reports are expected to be turned in on time by the last day of each month. Your availability and sign-in for In-Service Duty will include a rotation at all services: Sundays 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:15 pm and Wednesdays 7:00 pm.
Communication
Communication and follow through is expected. We do understand that life happens. It is IMPERATIVE that you communicate with team leaders and / or Prayer Ministry Director if things happen that would disrupt your ability to fulfill your commitments.
Commitment
If at the end of these training classes, you decide that being a Prayer Emissary is really for you, you will be asked to sign a one-year commitment. The Prayer Emissary Position Description clearly outlines the expectations. Each PE is accountable to meet these expectations and to complete all assignments.
If you choose not to commit to being a Unity Prayer Emissary after the training, please, keep in mind that the fee for the training is non-refundable.
Taking Care of Self
Taking care of ones self is the only way we can be there with others in a clear way. Your willingness to share in this mighty service is a gift of God, our Unity community and to yourself.
Release
Reasons for lovingly releasing a Prayer Emissary are as follows: 1. Breach of confidentiality. 2. Failure to complete any part of your agreement. 3. At Ministers discretion
