Join us as we dine together to celebrate Rev. Chris Jackson's 10 years of ministry at Unity on the Bay!
It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since Rev. Chris Jackson became our Senior Minister here at Unity on the Bay. Through his ministry here at Unity on the Bay, he has overseen the expansion of many wonderful programs to our greater Miami community. It is through his leadership, for example, that Unity on the Bay has given over 8,000 backpacks to over a dozen non-profit organizations that support children in need. We have also deepened partnerships with non-profits working to support the community, such as Chapman Partnership for the Homeless, Emily Moises Training Center for Adults with Disabilities, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Miami-Dade Public Schools, Habitat for Humanity, Project SAFE and many others. His dedication to equality for all people is the expression of his deep appreciation for the Unity Principle that we are expressions of God. This has led him to personally commit to working with SAVE, Pridelines, and other organizations working to end discrimination for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Through his leadership, Unity on the Bay worked to pass transgender protections to the Miami-Dade Human Rights Ordinance.
His most beautiful gift is that of inspiring thousands through his loving and compassionate energy, which he shares with the congregants of Unity on the Bay consistently. Our congregation has deepened in our understanding that we are all here in the world to be blessed and be a blessing unto others.
This has been a gift that he has shared with tens of thousands through his 25 years in Ministry. Born in Missouri and raised in Unity churches, Rev. Chris was destined to become one of the most powerful speakers and eloquent leaders of the Unity Movement.
Although he began as a tour guide at Unity Village, where the Unity Movement is centered, outside of Kansas City, Missouri, he continued to grow in his service to the movement.
In 1983, he entered Unity’s Ministerial Training Program while also studying at the local branch of Ottawa University, obtaining a degree in Ministerial Studies. He was ordained in January 1990. He stayed in Kansas City and worked his way up within the Unity administration to become Executive Vice-President of Unity Worldwide Headquarters. He left that post in 2000 to become senior minister of Unity of the Palm Beaches and in 2006 became Senior Minister of Unity on the Bay.
