JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Choir Director
Reports To: Music Director
Relates to: Church Senior Minister
General Description: Responsible for assisting in the coordination and administration of an effective, well-rounded music program. Provide leadership and supervision of Sacred Servers (volunteers) involved in the Music Ministry.
Specific Duties:
1. Conduct 2 choir rehearsals during the week.
2. Direct choir and praise team for 2 regular Sunday worship services.
3. Be available to direct additional choir rehearsals for Special services or performances throughout the year.
4. Assist music director/music committee in finding, arranging and developing new choir music.
5. Coordinate with Music Administrator (Sacred Server) concerning weekly and monthly details as well as upcoming events, concerts, etc.
6. Participate in the recruitment and training of new members of the choir and/or music team.
7. Coordinate with audio visual staff and team regularly to plan for A/V requirements.
8. Work with other staff to coordinate church efforts for Sacred Service, special services, etc.
Employment Standard:
1. Bachelor's Degree or proven education in music and/or 3 years' related experience if possible.
2. Experience in choral direction.
3. Leadership ability and the ability to work with and inspire Sacred Servers.
4. Team-player
5. Ability to perform and lead various styles of music
6. Preferred skills: keyboard and vocal skills, high level of overall musicianship
7. Awareness of musical material that includes New Thought, Contemporary, Gospel & R&B styles along with some Classical & other diverse cultures.
8. Knowledge of Unity and New Thought teachings and principles preferred
9. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Salary: $15,500 p/yr
